Not to be confused with Battle! (Wild Pokémon) - Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire (May 30, 2016)

"Battle! (Wild Pokémon) - Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire" is a high quality rip of "Battle! (Wild Pokémon)" from the games Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version.

Jokes Edit

This rip features "Meet the Flintstones" with the Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire soundfont instead of the Wild Pokémon battle theme. The video also switches to an enlarged picture of Grand Dad.

The song ends before the video does, leaving a few seconds of silence, with the exception of a voice sample of "Op" from "Gangnam Style" at the very end of the video.

History Edit

This rip was originally uploaded on the GiIvaSunner channel on January 9, 2016 under the title Wild Pokémon Battle - Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire[1][2][3]. It is the very first high quality rip ever.

According to Chaze the Chat, he created the rip a few days prior, around January 2, 2016[4]. He says he was inspired by a remix by toonlink, which would be later reworked into the A Secret Course (Anniversary Edition) - Super Mario Sunshine rip[5].

Despite being one of the most popular and iconic rips, it wasn't reuploaded to SiIvaGunner's channel during the first wave of reuploads in April-May 2016. This was acknowledged by SiIvaGunner who trolled the fans that waited for this rip by uploading a parody rip called "Battle! (Wild Pokémon) - Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire" on May 30, 2016.

Finally, on June 12, 2016, this rip was finally reuploaded under the title Battle! (Wild Pokémon) - Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire[6]. As with some other Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire rips, the "and" in the title was later changed to "&" at an unknown date.

Trivia Edit

  • This rip is the first appearance of Meet the Flintstones, Grand Dad, and Gangnam Style. It's also the first melody change rip.
  • Several earliest GiIvaSunner rips featured the background image changing with the melody, from the appropriate game logo to a picture related to the rip's joke. This rip is the only one that retained that feature after being reuploaded to the SiIvaGunner channel, most likely due to its important place in SiIvaGunner history.
  • Until March 30, 2017, this rip was credited in Volume 1 to "Barney Rubble" because it would've revealed who had made the first rip for the channel.

  4. the nutshack theme but the first nutshack is replaced with me ending the channel: ...I had a Pokémon song that I had made, um, a few days prior. Uh, I think I made that, I don't know, on January 2nd.
  5. the nutshack theme but the first nutshack is replaced with me ending the channel: For the Pokémon one I was inspired by, um, toonlink made -- he made a S-Super Mario Sunshine "Secret Course" "Megalovania" thing, and... it was cool because it was cool because it changed the melody of the song, and it wasn't exactly a mashup, but it was, like, a kind of a hybrid between a remix and a mashup, and I was like, "This is really cool."
