"God of ink - Splatoon 2" was a high quality rip of "God of ink" from Splatoon 2.
Joke[]
There is no actual track in Splatoon 2 titled "God of ink", as the rip was uploaded before the release of the game and its soundtrack.
This rip is the song "God of ink" from Re:Creators with the vocals edited through a filter to resemble Inkling speech. This plays off how ink is a prominent element of the Splatoon series.
History[]
This rip was striked by Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) on June 30, 2017.[2] The removal of the rip forced the SiIvaGunner channel to go on break, as noted by the description of the Bandcamp release: "lmao this rip gave us our third strike and we couldn't upload for a week and a half".
Following its removal from SiIvaGunner, dante reuploaded the rip to his personal channel three times. All three uploads were added to the Splatoon 2 playlist, though the duplicate reuploads were later removed from the playlist; the first one remained until dante's channel was terminated.
The rip was referenced several times in the King for a Day series. During the King for a Day Tournament, a rip referencing this one by the fanchannel BrawlBRSTMs7 X also named "God of ink - Splatoon 2" was included in the Off the Hook - Music Samples playlist. During the King for Another Day Tournament, Off the Hook ft. Paruko had the song "God of ink" added to their sourcelist in reference to this rip. The rip "God of ink - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day", a cover of this rip, was uploaded during the tournament itself.
