The Howie scream is a frequently used stock sound effect for a scream in movies, television and video games. Its name originates from Howie Long's death scene in the 1996 crime film Broken Arrow, however, it was first used in the 1980 drama film The Ninth Configuration.

The Howie scream replaced Loud Nigra during the reboot (much like The Simpsons and Family Guy did to 7 GRAND DAD, and "GO MY WAY!!" did to "Snow halation"). After the reboot, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and "GO MY WAY!!" show up every so often in solo rips and often appear in medley rips, but the Howie scream is almost never used.
